Cards & Bricks

Recently I came across a presentation by a terminally ill lecturer, Randy Pausch ... He was reflecting on his life during his 'last lecture'... Felt that some of his views were pretty meaningful...

He showed some CAT scans of his 10 tumours in his liver and spoke of his doc's prognosis that he had 3-6 months to live." Thats all what it is", he said simply,

" We can't change it. We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand".

Randy went on speaking about brick walls that often appear in the part of every accomplishment. He said, "the brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to give us a chance to show how badly we want somenthing. The brick walls are there to stop the people who don't want it badly enough."

How true about life... Its really how we want to handle each day and its challenges packaged with it... but then... its easier said than done.. :-)
